Composite Fencing Options

When it comes to composite fencing there are a wide variety of composite fence panels that can be used. As a rule we generally stick to a couple of suppliers which we know have good quality fence panels that can be used for composite fencing and gates so that you can have a complete match.

If you have already done you own research and have found a particular colour that your really want to go with then let us know and we'll double check that we are happy to install then and have double checked measurements and specifications so that you know what quantities to order.

As with most composite component whether for gates, fences or decking the initial cost will be higher than a wooden alternative however, your initial investment will save you both time and money longer term.

When looking to specify a composite fence there are a number of fence panel options that can vary in price but when looking at composite fencing you should be looking at the total cost on a bay perspective. The other really important factor is what your existing fence is constructed from.

If you have relatively new, clean concrete posts most composite fence panels will be compatible with your concrete posts. Some of the budget composite panels are made so that there width enables them to be slotted straight into the channel of the concrete post. Most of the more popular better quality composite fee panels have been purpose made to fit into their matching composite and steel posts and will be thinner than the budget panels. However, to compensate for this depth difference most also provide a 'channel' for their boards which can be used to secure the panels between concrete posts.

Most will provide both post panels and top and bottom channels to frame the boards within the posts which nicely finished of the whole fence bay. Utilising your existing concrete posts or even using brand new concrete posts with composite fence panels will save a significant amount for a fence of many bays as one of the biggest expenses of composite fencing are the composite posts.

Most composite posts have a composite surround a steel post. The steel provides the strength and the composite surround provides the aesthetics. but as a result combining the two has a price tag. Our teams are happy to cover all possible options with you.

Composite Fencing Installers

Whilst there are not that may differences from fitting a composite fence to a traditional wooden fence there are many fence companies who shy away from dealing with composites. Whilst most composite fence boards come in 15cm or 30cm height they simply need building up to form the fence. Whilst visually you may think that like wood, a whole fence panel is one single piece - for composite fencing the bay is actually build up from individual boards stacked upon each other.

If channels are being used in concrete posts they need to be carefully fitted to ensure that the concrete isn't blown out and boards simply need to be cut to the correct with to go between existing posts.

With the right tools and careful handling to ensure they are not damaged during construction our expert composite fitters will have your new fence up and looking good very soon. They can also install composite screen tops which are the composite equivalent of trellising. As they come in different designs and colours and can be mixed and matched with different fence panels to provide a very striking fence that will be the envy of your neighbours.

Composite Fencing Front Garden

Due to the aesthetics of composite fencing it is being specified in more and more front garden both as an alternative to wood but also as an alternative to metal railings. For front side garden fences composite provide a great low maintenance option and in open front garden the use of screens can provide a very noticeable and striking kerb appeal.

For properties where more privacy is required at the front of the house and where the existing boundary is made up of brick walls and pillars composite infill fencing between brick pillars provides much more privacy than composite railings. The solid nature of composite panels compared to the gaps between metal railings means that you can utilise your front garden without the world watching.

There are different levels and methods of fixing metal fencing between brick pillars and these again vary in price. If you have chunky metal and composite driveway gates you may want to match this style by fitting a metal frame all around the panels and then fix this to the wall and pillars. Additional finials can also be added on top such as spike or fleur de lis for a more decorative finish. The other less expensive and less sturdy alternative is to simply utilise the concrete post channels. These can be fixed to the pillars and bottom of the wall and then the fence panels can be slotted in exactly the same way as they are installed between concrete posts.

Whichever option you choose simply let us know what you wan to achieve visually and we'll take it from there.
